We Made a List and We're Checking it Twice...

It is imperative to amplify your social media presence this time of year and post Holiday related content. Why? Statistics show that viewers connect deeper with a brand that they can exude emotion from, especially this time of year. It's ideal for promoting your services, products, and offering promotions. (And no - you don't always have to offer something in the form of a monetary discount.)

Here's What You Need to Know in Terms of Holiday Marketing:
Let's Call It "THE TWO P's"

(No, we're not talking about The Partridge and The Pear Tree)

We mean...

Presence & Promotion

PRESENCE

Creating more of an online presence is key during this time of year. Whether you're celebrating Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanza, Diwali, The 2021 New Year, or Chinese New Year, we feel one of the most important aspects is to exude emotion and be relatable. Your team can have fun with this! We know you may be limited this year due to working from home and limits on gatherings, but you can modify these tips for your situation.

Change Your Profile Pictures/Cover Photo:
Switching up your profile photo and cover photo to something more festive not only keeps your page looking fresh but also increases engagement. Holiday posts do very well on social media and are a great way to increase your exposure.

Post Content of You and Your Team Enjoying the Holidays
This is a great way to increase engagement by adding in lifestyle posts. Statistically speaking, personal posts about you and your team always perform extremely well. Consumers want to see a face behind the brand. If you're stuck looking for content, think about your industry and incorporate something onto your stories each day. Be creative! If you're in the Real Estate or Home Organization industry, you can post a team member's favorite holiday home decor. Ask your audience to comment on their favorites. If you're in the Restaurant business, post your favorite holiday recipes and include a call to action to tag you if they try the recipe! There are so many ways to do this and share user-generated content (UGC).

Your Festive Work Set Up
Now that most of us are working from home, perhaps you have some decor you want to share from your home office. If you're in the office and your team decorates, share it with your viewers! Go live!

Holiday content is easy to create and is also easily sharable.

PROMOTION

Many popular promotions include percentages off of sales. Maybe you aren't able to afford to offer a monetary discount due to your margin calculations, or perhaps you're in a different kind of industry - don't worry, there are still ways to stand out.

Create a Holiday Giveaway Contest
Come up with a creative way to increase your engagement with a contest. You don't have to have a large giveaway, but many people respond to contests on social media where in order to enter you have to "Like This Post and Tag a Friend Below in the Comments!" By including a call to action, increases engagement and has your viewers spreading brand awareness by tagging their friends and family. Here's an idea if you're in the Fitness industry; create a holiday push-up competition. Have your followers post their video and tag you in it. They'll be entered to win in a giveaway! It's mutually beneficial! (Bonus Points if they're wearing a Santa hat while they do the push-ups!)

Working with Other Local Businesses Around You
This year, more than ever, it is imperative to support local businesses, like yours! Team up with someone else in your community and do a Holiday cross-promotion on social media. It's a mutually beneficial way to gain access to other clients.

Work with a Local Influencer or Blogger
Influencer Marketing is HUGE! You can work together with them and if they like your product, you can come to some sort of arrangement to work together. Remember, as we mentioned a few weeks back, sometimes you have to give, give, give value before you can ask.

Bonuses
Depending on your industry, if you can't offer a typical discount you can always do some sort of Sign-On Bonus if you offer a service or a Free with Purchase item if you sell goods.

Remember, think outside of the box and have fun with it!
