Don't fall for these beliefs!

Let's make some sense out of this!

You've been convinced that the following are true. We're here to set the record straight, so let's jump right into it this week!

Keep scrolling for the 5 Big Assumptions made on social media.

Assumption #1

Facebook is the dominant platform among all demographics

Let's say your audience is primarily on Instagram and you've only been focused on Facebook - think about how many people you're missing🧐

If you missed the socialtopia A-Z segment, we spoke about the different generations and their platform tendencies.

Assumption #2

Social media is a just a small aspect of your business marketing efforts.

Perhaps there was some truth to this years ago, but these days businesses grow and THRIVE fully because of social media efforts. It's amazing what this industry can do for your marketing efforts and overall brand awareness. What's the catch?
You have to be IN IT 100% every single day❗️

Assumption #3

When I post my audience will almost always see it. Organic reach is all I need.

Because of the algorithm updates and the influence of paid campaigns these days, organic visibility simply isn't what it used to be. You have to put in a lot more work to be seen organically. Because of this, some businesses choose to allocate a portion of their marketing budget toward strategic paid ad campaigns. If that's not an option fiscally, that's okay, but the takeaway here is there's no shortcut or magic button to connect organically. Do not pay for followers!

Assumption #4

I don’t need to show my face, my product/services will sell themselves.

People connect more with people, as opposed to brands, which is exactly why we want you to show your face! 📸 Community and connecting on a deeper level is so important now more than ever - they want to learn more about the person behind the brand. You could have the best product in the entire world, but if you're not showing who you are, you will fade into the background.

Assumption #5

Pinterest is overrated and I do not need to use this platform.

Pinterest is a visually inspiring platform. Did you know that the life span of a Pin is 3 months! Compared to a post on a different platform, if you didn't see it in the first 24-48 hours odds are you won't see it in your feed! (To be honest, the avg lifespan of a Facebook post is only about 6 hours!)
P.S. According to Influencer Marketing Hub, 8/10 Moms use Pinterest! If Moms are part of your targeted demographic, go sign up for your account now
